About the role

The Theology Teacher is responsible for delivering assigned courses while upholding the mission and tenets of the Catholic faith. They must design coherent instruction, assess student learning, and contribute to the orderly operation of the school.

Description JOB SUMMARY

Most importantly, the candidate is expected to adhere to all principles and tenets of the Catholic faith, to maintain a lifestyle that is in full accord with Church teachings, and to always promote the best interests of his or her students and the Roman Catholic Church. The Theology Teacher is responsible for teaching courses assigned, assumes supervisory responsibilities, contributes to the efficient orderly operation of the school, and upholds the mission and philosophy of the school. Candidate will demonstrate knowledge of content and pedagogy and various resources. Is versed in selecting instructional goals, designing coherent instruction, and assessing student learning. Candidate provides authentic learning experiences that are applicable to the real world, is flexible and responsive to students’ diverse needs, and actively engages students in their learning. Candidate should possess a desire to grow and develop professionally and be a reflective and collaborative individual. Additional Duties Performs other related tasks as assigned by the Dean of Curriculum and Professional Development and other administrators as designated by the Head of School. Requirements

Qualifications

Possess a strong educational background in Theology, Catholic religious studies, Divinity, and must have a passion for inspiring an appreciation for self and community spirituality and social justice. At least 2 years of school-based teaching experience (preferably in Catholic Schools) Minimum requirement: Bachelor's Degree in Secondary Education (with a concentration in Religious Studies) and/or bachelor’s degree in Religious Studies or Theology. Strong communication (written and oral) and technology skills.
