Position Title

Peer Tutor: Writing, World Languages, Humanities, Social Science, Music Job Category: Student Hourly Job Profile: Student Help Job Summary: Special note for those interested in writing tutoring: Be prepared to submit a writing sample along with this application. As a tutor, you will support your peers in achieving their learning goals while learning and growing as a professional. As a tutor you will: Enhance your communication skills Increase your understanding of and gain new perspectives on the subject you tutor Better understand the learning process through tutor training and your work with peers with other learning styles and educational experiences Gain mentorship skills Enjoy flexible hours (4-12 per week) in a convenient on-campus work location Earn a starting wage of $12.00 per hour Duties and Expectations: Provide tutoring and support in one of our service areas Assist learners in the development of effective study skills and test-taking strategies Learn and continually apply TLC and tutoring program procedures Regularly check staff email and communicate with other staff members Attend required orientations, meetings, and training sessions Key Job Responsibilities: Department: Tutoring Learning Center Compensation: $12.00 Required Qualifications: Completed at least one semester at UWSP with at least two semesters remaining Demonstrate a strong grasp of course material as evidenced by a 3.0 GPA or above and/or a faculty recommendation letter. Requirements

Must have completed at least one semester at UWSP with two remaining and maintain a GPA of 3.0 or above. Applicants must be available for at least two semesters and be willing to work in a collaborative environment.
