- AMS is seeking a passionate and dedicated Middle School Humanities Teacher (Grades 5–8) to join our team at the AMS Power Campus in Mesa for the 2026–2027 school year.
- The Middle School Humanities Teacher is responsible for delivering engaging instruction in English Language Arts, reading comprehension, writing, and social studies, while helping scholars develop strong critical thinking, communication, and analytical skills.

- Key Responsibilities Instruction & Student Achievement Deliver rigorous, standards-aligned instruction aligned with AMS curriculum and Arizona academic standards.
- Teach core humanities subjects including English Language Arts, reading, writing, and social studies.
- Differentiate instruction to support students performing above and below grade level.
- Use formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress and guide instructional planning.
- Implement instructional strategies that strengthen critical thinking, reading comprehension, writing, and analytical skills.
- Classroom Culture & Student Development Establish and maintain a structured, positive, and high-expectations classroom environment.
- Implement PBIS and proactive classroom management strategies.
- Support students’ academic, behavioral, and social-emotional development.
- Encourage scholars to set high expectations for themselves and develop strong learning habits.
- Collaboration & Professional Growth Participate in weekly professional development and professional learning communities (PLCs).
- Collaborate with grade-level teams, instructional coaches, and school leadership to strengthen instructional practices.
- Use student performance data to support instructional improvement and intervention planning.
- Contribute to school-wide systems and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Family Engagement Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress and academic expectations.
- Conduct parent-teacher conferences and support strong home–school partnerships.
- Provide families with resources and strategies to support student learning.
Minimum Qualifications
Candidates must meet one of the following requirements: Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., Education, Elementary Education, English, History, Social Studies, or relevant content area) OR Valid Arizona teaching certification in a relevant subject area OR Minimum of three (3) years of K–12 teaching experience Plus: SEI Endorsement or completion of 45 hours of SEI training is required to be considered for the role Additionally, candidates must: Demonstrate strong classroom management skills Pass required background checks and obtain an IVP Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card Show commitment to serving Title I and multilingual communities Demonstrate strong analytical skills and a data-driven instructional mindset Exhibit collaboration, professionalism, and initiative in a team-based environment Join us to enjoy rewarding challenges and ongoing opportunities!
