Job description
The SIM Technician is responsible for managing, operating, and maintaining simulation equipment and technologies used in nursing education. This role supports faculty and students and is integral to the success of simulation-based nursing education, providing vital technical expertise to ensure that simulation experiences are realistic, educational, and effective. Major Responsibilities: Support daily operations of clinical simulation lab Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues that arise during simulations Assure facility and equipment are organized and prepared for teaching sessions by preassembly of props, moulage, learning materials, and documentation Operate simulation console and software, audio/visual equipment, debriefing equipment, and human patient simulator Assist faculty in monitoring students’ safety Provide theatrical support including moulage and voice over Provide feedback for improving simulation experience Maintain a clean and safe simulation lab to promote an optimal learning environment Conduct routine equipment maintenance Salvage re-usable supplies and repackage Monitor and maintain organization of supply stock Communicate with Simulation Resource Facilitator to promote
Minimum Qualifications
Experience in a clinical healthcare setting, healthcare simulation, or information technology is highly desirable Ability to work with various and changing technology Self-directed with an ability to work in a fast-paced environment Technical skills in operating and troubleshooting complex equipment and software Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team of educators and students Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds Work hours: 5-8 hour shifts during daytime hours Weekdays only Expectation of 1 day per week when classes are in session Proudly named a Louisville Business First's 2025 Best Places to Work - Ivy Tech Community College, Sellersburg.
