Part Time - Clinical Faculty Hondros College of Nursing Bingham Farms, MI

Do you have a passion for nursing and desire to share this with others entering this critical field? Hondros College of Nursing is currently seeking a dynamic part-time on-site Clinical Instructor to teach within the Nursing program at our Bingham Farms campus.

Our teaching roles allow you the ability to continue working in field while exploring the world of Academia and engaging the next generation of nurses. Our nursing courses provide the knowledge, clinical skills, and nursing values critical for students to be successful in this field.

No prior teaching experience in a formal higher education setting is necessary; training is provided!

Essential

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Instruct students off campus at our clinical sites and/or in a lab setting.
  • Promote a positive learning environment and work collaboratively to assure full instruction of the clinical component of the curriculum.
  • Create a high level of student engagement by planning the student clinical experience.
  • Supervise and orient students to the clinical site as well as to all applicable policies and procedures.
  • Evaluate each student’s achievement and progress, providing valuable feedback.
  • Participate as a member of the Faculty Organization and Campus Curriculum Committees.

Compensation, Benefits & Schedule

  • Part-Time flexible off-site clinical-based scheduling up to 24 hours per week (generally no Sundays or Holiday scheduling!)
  • Competitive hourly rate based on course types and schedule, with Saturday premium pay. Details are outlined clearly as you move forward in the hiring process and a schedule is confirmed.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree in Nursing is required. Hondros College of Nursing follows the requirements set by the Department of Education, accrediting agencies, and the states in which our campuses operate.
  • Two or more years full-time work experience as a RN (or part-time equivalent).
  • Active unencumbered State of MI RN licensure.
  • Ability to provide official transcripts for each degree earned from an accredited institution.
  • Current (or ability to obtain) American Heart Association compliant Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

General Credentialing Requirements

  • Applicants selected and receiving an offer of employment will be required to complete key credentialing requirements for clinical placements prior to being cleared for start. Full detailed information is provided at time of offer. A summary of requirements includes:
  • Providing copies of official transcripts for all degrees earned
  • Providing a copy of current American Heart Association BLS or ACLS CPR card
  • Completion of a physical form (from within the last 12 months)
  • Immunization documentation for:
  • Hepatitis B
  • MMR
  • TDAP/Tetanus
  • TB (2 step)
  • Varicella
  • FLU (October 1 – April 1 hires)
