Responsibilities

  • Assist summer program faculty and instructors to academically support student engagement and success in the program within the classroom setting.
  • Help set-up and clean up learning environments and activities
  • Assist with one to one and small group discussions.
  • Assist in the preparation and implementation of program activities.
  • Ensure that participants are properly supervised at all times.
  • Participate in all program activities.
  • Set a good example to participants and other staff regarding general program procedures and practices.
  • Ensure positive attitude, behavior and interaction with participants and staff.
  • Be alert to equipment and facilities to ensure proper use, care, and maintenance is adhered to; report repairs needed promptly to lead counselor or program director.
  • Follow and uphold all safety and security rules and procedures.
  • Know and understand all emergency procedures and safety guidelines associated with the camp program.
  • Alert first aid staff and other personnel of any medical issues.

Qualifications

  • Must be 18+ years old
  • Have earned an Associate’s degree or be a full or part-time student within your junior year of pursuing an undergraduate bachelor’s degree
  • First Aid Certification (preferred, but not required)
  • CPR Certification (preferred, but not required)
  • Prior youth camp or summer camp counselor experience (Preferred)
  • Good interpersonal skills

Hours of Position

  • $575 weekly compensation stipend
  • Full Time Temporary Seasonal (35 hrs. per week, on select weeks)
  • Working hours are
  • Monday through
  • Friday (weekdays) between 8:30
  • AM to 4:30 PM
  • Room and board offered upon request (single room accommodation & meals)
