School Summary

Minnesota Connections Academy (MNCA) is a tuition-free, online charter school for students in grades K-12 throughout Minnesota. MNCA’s program is operated through a contract with Connections Academy, LLC, to provide the educational program and other services. Connections Academy, a division of Connections Education, is accredited by AdvancED, and MNCA is accredited by the North Central Association Commission on Accreditation and School Improvement.

Position Summary

The Administrative Assistant II - Truancy Liaison is responsible for a variety of daily tasks, including answering phone calls and emails, submitting truancy filings, corresponding with families, county social workers and school administrators regarding attendance, and performing other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, process, and submit truancy filings in accordance with district and county guidelines.
  • Generate attendance reports and provide data to county social workers.
  • Attend truancy meetings and court hearings related to students with attendance concerns.
  • Send written communications via mail and email to families regarding student attendance concerns and truancy notifications.
  • Enter student data into the state reporting system.
  • Assist administration with a wide variety of special projects.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • High school diploma required
  • 1–2 years of similar administrative experience preferred
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and web-based applications
  • Proficiency with Google applications (Mail, Calendar, Drive, Hangouts, Documents, etc.)
  • Basic accounting knowledge preferred
  • Intermediate skill level in MS Excel
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to maintain privacy and confidentiality (FERPA)
  • Customer-focused approach
  • High degree of flexibility

The anticipated starting salary for Minnesota-based individuals expressing interest in this position begins at $22.00 per hour.
