  • Excellence Community Schools (ECS) is a K-8 Charter Management Organization (CMO) serving communities in the Bronx, NY, and Stamford, CT. Our approach is built on a nationally recognized model that began with our flagship school, the Bronx Charter School for Excellence, a proud recipient of the National Blue Ribbon Schools Award. We accomplish this by offering a challenging and rigorous academic curriculum, which at the earliest grades of has an eye towards college preparation. Responsibilities

  • Plans and teaches collaboratively with the grade-level team to implement best practices that support the success of all learners.
  • Plans purposefully to provide students with meaningful opportunities to construct knowledge and deepen understanding of new concepts.
  • Applies high-quality curriculum resources that promote student growth and align with required educational expectations.
  • Introduces new ideas and concepts using varied instructional strategies, inspiring and guiding students to explore, express, and develop their own thinking.
  • Administers, collects, and analyzes qualitative and quantitative data from a range of student assessments.
  • Builds strong relationships with students’ families through consistent communication regarding progress and by offering ways families can support learning at home.
  • Participates in school-wide assessments to identify and address student needs.
  • Supervises students during lunch and/or recess.

Requirements

  • Connecticut Teacher Certification, or eligibility for reciprocity from another state in an equivalent certification area, required.
  • At least one year of teaching experience required.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.

Compensation & Benefits • Salary Range

  • $53,235 – $118,163. Salary commensurate with experience and qualifications.
