Job description

Rainbow Centre envisions a world where persons with disabilities are empowered, included and thriving in inclusive communities.

Our out-of-school-hours student care service (OOSH) offers vibrant, nurturing and safe environments with a range of activities aimed at cultivating the interests and abilities of each student and recognising them as unique individuals.

Reporting to the Centre Head and working under the guidance of Senior Care Facilitators, the Assistant Care Facilitator is responsible for the provision of quality care, learning opportunities and meaningful engagement for students to support their life skills development.

Critical Work Functions

  • 1. Provide High Quality Care and Nurturing Environment
  • Prepare materials and environments suited to the activities planned and to meet access and learning needs of students
  • Maintain clean and conducive environment for optimal engagement of students
  • Assist students, individually or in groups, in carrying out instructions and activities
  • Assist with the specific health, medical, safety and daily living needs of students
  • Under Centre Head/Therapist supervision, implement student behavioural plans and support in managing student behaviours
  • 2. Facilitate Holistic Student Development
  • Build a strong relationship with students by exhibiting care, concern and encouragement
  • Encourage students to participate in a diverse activities for exposure and discovery of interests
  • Identify students' talent and promote relevant learning experiences for them to nurture talent
  • Assist Centre Head in maintaining inventories of equipment, materials and supplies
  • Work with with allied professionals, family members and appropriate others for effective planning and execution of development strategies for the student
  • Participate in various organisational initiatives and/or events
  • We are currently looking for Assistant Care Facilitators with the following qualities and qualifications to join our Student Care Centres at Yishun Park:
  • Passionate about building a career in the social service sector
  • GCE 'N' Level/'O' Level/NITEC in related fields
  • Good communication, interpersonal and problem solving skills
  • Only Singaporeans and Permanent Residents

Those with prior relevant experience may be appointed as Care Facilitators.
