Youth Development Professional (YDP)

The youth development professional is responsible for caring for children in residence, utilizing a child-Centered approach to facilitate their behavioral, emotional, intellectual, and developmental gains. This includes maintaining a safe and nurturing environment while guiding residents through treatment goals using everyday opportunities.

Candidates must possess a high school diploma or ged, though college education and experience are preferred, and must be able to physically manage crisis intervention, including restraints requiring lifting up to 50 pounds. Essential qualifications also include demonstrating core values like honesty, dedication to purpose, and social concern.
