Temporary Teaching Assistant PLEASE NOTE

  • This position will be placed through the Hirecall Staffing Agency JOB SUMMARY Work in a temporary position. Flexibility is required, and you may be asked to go to any of our current locations [http://captulsa.org/families/early-childhood-education/sites-locations/]. RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Work with current staff to assist in the daily operations of the classroom.
  • Work cooperatively with all CAP employees, Family Support personnel, volunteers, and collaborative partners.
  • Willingness to change school locations throughout the Tulsa area, at an on-call basis.
  • Change diapers and assist with toilet training.
  • Positive child guidance and regular child interactions are required.
  • Promptly respond to the needs of infants and toddlers in the classroom.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or requested.
  • Required education/Experience
  • HS Diploma/GED with Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential (with appropriate endorsement), or in the process of obtaining CDA, or Para-Professional Certification (by education or test).
  • Experience working with infant, toddler, or preschool children.
  • Bilingual skills are not required, but they are preferred.
  • Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
  • Must have proven successful interpersonal relationship skills to maintain effective and satisfactory working relationships with intra-department and inter-department staff, vendors, clients, visitors, and contractors.
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions with the ability to read, interpret, and present information efficiently and effectively.
  • Must be able to accurately audit records and ensure compliance with written or oral guidelines.
  • Ability to take initiative, multi-task, and work well under pressure.
  • Must maintain strict confidentiality of extremely sensitive data, records, files, conversations, etc

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL & MENTAL REQUIREMENTS The employee is subject to standing, stooping, walking, lifting, and carrying objects throughout daily job performance. Must be able to lift and carry fifty (50) pounds. Regular and reliable attendance is required.
