Part-Time Medical Assistant Instructor

Hiring Range

$22.88 – $27.46 per hour

Type: Part-Time (10 Hours/Week)

Schedule

10 hours per week (6:00 pm – 10:00 pm, Tuesday and Thursday). Please include your availability when applying.

Essential Functions • Instructional Delivery

  • Design and deliver engaging lesson plans using diverse teaching methods to accommodate all learning styles.
  • Student
  • Mentorship: Address academic or behavioral concerns and hold regular office hours to provide individualized support.
  • Assessment &
  • Feedback: Evaluate and grade student work, assignments, and papers within a 72-hour window.
  • Curriculum
  • Management: Regularly review and update course materials, including syllabi, assignments, and handouts.
  • Records &
  • Compliance: Maintain accurate student records, including attendance, incident reports, and early alerts.
  • Real-World
  • Connection: Organize guest speakers, field trips, and visits to medical facilities to bridge the gap between theory and practice.
  • Campus
  • Engagement: Attend faculty meetings, advisory boards, graduations, and professional development workshops.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education: Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program recognized by the USDE or CHEA.
  • Exception: A minimum of three (3) years of job-related training and experience for instructors who are not graduates from an accredited program.
  • Occupational Experience: At least three (3) years of full-time practical experience as a Medical Assistant.
  • Certification: Current CMA or RMA certification (unencumbered) or a willingness to obtain one.
  • Tech Literacy: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with online learning platforms.
  • Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior classroom teaching experience.
  • More than three years of practical Medical Assisting experience.
