Essential Functions • Instructional Delivery
- Design and deliver engaging lesson plans using diverse teaching methods to accommodate all learning styles.
- Student
- Mentorship: Address academic or behavioral concerns and hold regular office hours to provide individualized support.
- Assessment &
- Feedback: Evaluate and grade student work, assignments, and papers within a 72-hour window.
- Curriculum
- Management: Regularly review and update course materials, including syllabi, assignments, and handouts.
- Records &
- Compliance: Maintain accurate student records, including attendance, incident reports, and early alerts.
- Real-World
- Connection: Organize guest speakers, field trips, and visits to medical facilities to bridge the gap between theory and practice.
- Campus
- Engagement: Attend faculty meetings, advisory boards, graduations, and professional development workshops.
Minimum Qualifications
- Education: Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program recognized by the USDE or CHEA.
- Exception: A minimum of three (3) years of job-related training and experience for instructors who are not graduates from an accredited program.
- Occupational Experience: At least three (3) years of full-time practical experience as a Medical Assistant.
- Certification: Current CMA or RMA certification (unencumbered) or a willingness to obtain one.
- Tech Literacy: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with online learning platforms.
- Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior classroom teaching experience.
- More than three years of practical Medical Assisting experience.
