Core responsibilities
The counselor provides direct supervision for a group of children in a seasonal day camp, ensuring their safety while creating positive, nurturing relationships with them and building cooperative relationships with parents or caregivers. Essential functions include documenting incidents, maintaining records, preparing/Following curriculum, maintaining discipline, and ensuring necessary supplies are available.
Requirements summary
Candidates must possess a high school diploma or ged and be at least 18 years old, with previous experience working with children or in sports programs preferred. Required certifications include first aid, cpr, bbp training, concussion training, and obtaining odjfs licensing certification within 30 days if applicable.
