About the role

The teacher will be responsible for teaching and planning US History/Social Studies lessons for high school students, developing engaging activities, and using assessment data to adjust instruction. They must also foster a positive classroom culture and maintain accurate student progress records.

Overview Fasman Yeshiva High School is seeking a dynamic and highly motivated High School US History/Social Studies teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for teaching and a proven ability to inspire and engage students at all levels of US History/Social Studies. We are looking for someone who can create an inclusive and positive learning environment where students can develop their love for history and reach their full potential.

Responsibilities

Job Responsibilities: Teach and plan lessons for US History/Social Studies courses for high school students. Develop and implement engaging and interactive classroom activities and assessments to support student learning. Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all students, including those with lower academic ability. Use assessment data to inform and adjust teaching practices, set individual student goals, and provide targeted support. Collaborate with colleagues to design and implement interdisciplinary projects and activities. Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in US History/Social Studies education. Provide support and guidance to students outside of class as needed. Foster a positive and supportive classroom culture that encourages risk-taking and promotes student engagement and success. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress and achievement.

Qualifications

Required Skills/Abilities Maintains expertise in subject matter through professional development. Excellence in classroom management techniques Ability to maintain confidentiality. Ability to interface and communicate effectively with students, parents, and other staff members. Strong passion for teaching & commitment to student learning & development Committed to curriculum design and growth. Education and Training: Bachelor's degree in History or a related field At least 3 years of successful teaching experience at the high school level Strong knowledge of US History/Social Studies Ability to differentiate instruction and design engaging lessons for all levels and abilities Commitment to ongoing professional development and growth Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 5 pounds at times.

Requirements

Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in History or a related field and have at least three years of successful high school teaching experience, demonstrating strong knowledge of US History/Social Studies. Essential abilities include excellent classroom management, the capacity to differentiate instruction, and a strong commitment to student learning and professional growth.
