About the role

Staff are charged with nurturing and stimulating the social, emotional, language, cognitive, and physical development of infants, toddlers, and pre-school children in center-based Early Care and Education programs. Duties include planning and preparing daily classroom activities, providing direct instructional services, maintaining high-quality classroom environments, and daily record keeping.

Serving over 70,000 patients annually, the hospital offers a full complement of services including a Level II Trauma Center, Level III NICU, heart care, women’s health, and a family birth center.

In 2025, we opened our new patient tower, Grand Tower, featuring a dramatically expanded Emergency Department and Family Birth Center that will increase patient comfort and privacy.

Job Summary and Responsibilities The California Hospital Medial Center Early Care and Education programs provide early care and education services for infants toddlers and pre-school children.

Staff within these programs are charged with nurturing and stimulating the social emotional language cognitive and physical development of each child.

Center-based Early Care and Education programs are open year round from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m Monday though Friday.

Duties include: Planning and preparing daily classroom activities.

Direct instructional services.

Maintaining high quality classroom environments Daily record keeping.

Job Requirements 2 years of experience working with children birth to five years.

BA in Child Development or a minimum of 24 Child Development units required.

Current CPR and First Aid training required Bilingual English/Spanish language skills preferred.

California Department of Education Teacher Permit preferred

Requirements

Candidates must have two years of experience working with children aged birth to five years and possess either a BA in Child Development or a minimum of 24 Child Development units. Current CPR and First Aid training are required.
