Education and Experience
- Must have high school diploma or GED; College degree preferred,
- Lived personal or family experience with substance abuse challenges and in recovery preferred
- Must have excellent communication and organizational skills and be able to efficiently document services in a timely manner
- Have experience working in behavioral health with an in-depth understanding of overdose prevention
- Must have valid TX driver's license and be insurable
Job Purpose
- Offer community-education on overdose prevention and overdose response
- Provide accurate and current best practice information about addiction treatment, harm reduction, recovery, and overdose prevention
- Offer community-based distribution of overdose reversal medications
Job Function
- Proficiently provide Overdose Prevention training and Naloxone distribution
- Provide vigorous outreach throughout HHSC Regions 1 and engages community partners
- Work as part of a team to meet performance measures
- Efficiently document and submit reports and other data as required or requested
