Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Social Work, Child Development, Communication Disorders, Psychology, Sociology, or related field, which includes a minimum of 18 semester course credit relevant to Early Childhood Intervention, with at least 3 of the 18 hours of semester course credit in Early Childhood Development or Early Children Special Education
  • Must have a desire to work within a team serving children from birth to age 3 in Early Childhood Intervention (ECI) program
  • Must have valid TX driver's license and be insurable

Job Purpose

  • To provide early intervention services including service coordination in the natural environment of children from birth to age 3 in the nine county catchment area
  • Coaching and supporting families is an integral part of the ECI program

Job Function

  • Conducts intakes, screenings and assessments to determine potential eligibility of children from birth to age 3 in child's natural environment
  • Participates in determining appropriate services for child and family which meets ECI contract requirements
  • Coordinates services for child and family and refer and/or link families to appropriate services as needed
  • Document all services collaboratively with the caregivers in the natural environment
  • Follows infection policy and universal precautions at all times with child and family
