26-27 Elementary School Instructional Assistant

The instructional assistant supports lead teachers by providing specialized whole group, small group, and one-On-One instruction to students with special education needs, implementing academic and behavioral strategies outlined in their ieps. Responsibilities also include building trusting relationships, supporting classroom culture, and assisting with daily operational duties like transitions and meals.

Required qualifications include a high school diploma or ged and a commitment to working with students from underserved communities, along with knowledge of reading, writing, and mathematics instruction. Preferred qualifications include a bachelor's degree and prior experience as an aide or assistant working with special education students in an urban setting.
