- AMS is seeking a passionate and data-driven Middle School Humanities Teacher (Grades 5–8) to join our team at the Nellis Campus in Las Vegas for the 2026–2027 school year.
- The Middle School Humanities Teacher is responsible for delivering rigorous, standards-aligned instruction in English Language Arts, reading, writing, and social studies, helping scholars develop strong literacy, critical thinking, and analytical skills.

- Key Responsibilities Instruction & Student Achievement Deliver rigorous, standards-aligned humanities instruction aligned with AMS curriculum and Nevada Academic Content Standards.
- Teach core subjects including English Language Arts, reading comprehension, writing, and social studies.
- Differentiate instruction to support students performing above and below grade level.
- Use formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress and guide instructional planning.
- Develop students’ critical thinking, writing, reading comprehension, and analytical reasoning skills.
- Classroom Culture & Student Development Establish and maintain a structured, positive, and high-expectations classroom environment.
- Implement PBIS and proactive classroom management strategies.
- Support students’ academic, behavioral, and social-emotional development.
- Encourage student voice, discussion, and engagement in learning.
- Collaboration & Professional Growth Participate in weekly professional development and professional learning communities (PLCs).
- Collaborate with grade-level teams, instructional coaches, and school leadership to strengthen instructional practices.
- Use student performance data to support instructional improvement and targeted interventions.
- Contribute to school-wide systems focused on student achievement and continuous improvement.
- Family Engagement Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress and academic expectations.
- Conduct parent-teacher conferences and maintain strong home–school partnerships.
- Support family engagement initiatives that promote student success.
Minimum Qualifications
Candidates must meet the following requirements: Valid teaching license issued by the Nevada Department of Education (NDE) (or ability to obtain prior to start date) Bachelor’s degree in Education, English, History, or a related field Additionally, candidates must: Demonstrate strong classroom management skills Show commitment to serving Title I and multilingual learner communities Demonstrate strong analytical skills and a data-driven instructional mindset Exhibit collaboration, professionalism, and initiative in a team-based environment Successfully pass required background checks in accordance with Nevada state requirements
Preferred Qualifications
