Core responsibilities
The registered behavior technician is responsible for directly implementing applied behavior analysis (Aba) services for children on the autism spectrum to enhance their behavior, communication, social, and functional skills according to a supervising bcba's treatment plan. Core duties include establishing therapeutic relationships, providing instruction using aba methodology, fading prompts, collecting accurate behavior data, and educating parents on reinforcement strategies.
Requirements summary
Candidates must possess a high school diploma or some college education, and while the registered behavior technician credential is preferred, training is provided for those without it, which includes 40 hours of training and passing required assessments. Applicants must also be dependable, able to work independently or in a team, pass background screenings, and be willing to travel to provide in-Home services.
