Job Description
The General Teacher is a fully professional role responsible for delivering a robust and thoughtful curriculum, ensuring student learning and emotional growth in a core content area (e.g., Language Arts, Math, Science, Social Studies, General Studies). This position includes: Instruction: Planning and delivering engaging, student-centered lessons that reflect a commitment to progressive teaching methods and content mastery. Curriculum Development: Individually and collectively contributing to the creation and refinement of the curriculum. Student Support: Building strong, authentic relationships with students, serving as a mentor and guide for their academic and social-emotional development.
Collaboration
Actively collaborating within a grade-level or divisional team and with specialist (studio) teachers to create interdisciplinary and integrated learning experiences.
Communication
Maintaining effective and proactive communication with parents regarding student progress and partnership in education.
Community
- Attending weekly faculty meetings, participating in routine school duties, and engaging in ongoing professional learning and curriculum development initiatives.
