Teaching Assistant I

The teaching assistant i supports students' academic, emotional, and social growth by providing hands-On guidance in a positive classroom environment under the supervision of teaching staff. Key duties include assisting with specialized instruction, sharing student observations with the teacher, preparing resources, managing behavioral crises using tci techniques, and monitoring students during various activities.

A high school diploma or ged is required, along with obtaining a new york state teaching assistant level i certification within six months and a level iii certification within five years. Candidates must also possess a valid, unrestricted nys driver's license for at least one year and be able to work a 12-Month schedule, including variable hours.
