Job description
- Camp Wieuca is a ministry branch of Church at Wieuca located in Buckhead.
- Our purpose is to provide children with an engaging and nurturing Christian environment.
- We strive to show our campers a Christ-like example through growing relationships and fun, meaningful experiences.
- We are currently hiring Camp Counselors for our amazing summer camp program.
- This position will report to the Camp Director and is typically a college-aged student that may be looking for a fun, rewarding summer job!
- Camp runs from June 1 through July 24 and is closed the week of July 4th.
- Camp hours are from 8am - 6pm and we offer two shift schedules that are either the early shift covering the morning beginning at 7:45 am or the later shift, covering until 6:00 pm.
- Main Responsibilities: Supervising and developing fun activity segments Build relationships with campers and families to ensure a positive experience Leading engaging Bible studies Supervising junior counselors Camper safety, supervision, and security during regular camp activities Help provide a clean, safe environment Other Responsibilities: Must be familiar with many games and activities Must possess an energetic approach to the job Must be self-motivated to perform tasks independently Must be highly mature, adaptable, diplomatic and caring Must remain calm even in the midst of stressful situations Must have the ability to learn and be able to follow instructions Must keep the facility clean and organized Senior counselors are encouraged to get to know the parents of their campers and help minister to those families.
- For this reason, senior counselors will remain assigned to the same group of campers for the duration of the summer What skills and experience you should have: As a faith-centered environment, we hope that you will have a growing personal relationship with Jesus Christ Prior related childcare experience preferred Discretionary judgment and maturity accompanied by effective problem analysis and resolution skills in a loving and nurturing manner A team player with the ability to cultivate a team spirit within the camp staff CPR/First Aid certification & knowledge of first aid a plus Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, sit for periods and move with the kids
