About the Role

• The Facility Lifeguard at The Harker School plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety and well-being of all individuals utilizing the aquatic facilities.
• This position requires constant vigilance and proactive monitoring of pool activities to prevent accidents and respond effectively to emergencies.
• The lifeguard will also be responsible for enforcing facility rules and regulations to promote a safe and enjoyable environment for all patrons.
• Additionally, the role involves conducting regular safety checks and maintaining cleanliness in and around the pool area.
• Ultimately, the Facility Lifeguard contributes to a positive experience for students, staff, and visitors by prioritizing safety and emergency preparedness.

Minimum Qualifications

• Current Lifeguard Certification from a recognized organization (Red Cross, ELLIS, STARGuard).
• Current CPR and First Aid certifications from a recognized organization (Red Cross, ELLIS, STARGuard, AHA).
• Ability to swim proficiently and demonstrate lifeguarding skills.
• Must be 18 or older.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working as a lifeguard in a school or community setting.
• Knowledge of water safety and rescue techniques.
• Ability to communicate effectively with diverse groups of people.

Responsibilities

• Monitor pool activities to ensure the safety of all swimmers and patrons.
• Enforce facility rules and regulations to maintain a safe environment.
• Respond promptly to emergencies, providing first aid and CPR as necessary.
• Conduct regular safety checks and maintain cleanliness in and around the pool area.
• Assist in organizing and leading swimming lessons and aquatic programs.
