Description Job Purpose The Teacher is dedicated to fostering students' understanding of, cultural, political, and economic concepts while promoting critical thinking and global awareness. They are committed to the academic development, well-being, and safety of students, contributing to the overall success of the school.

Duties and Responsibilities

Primary job duties and responsibilities: Develops and implements engaging instructional lesson plans aligned with state standards and curriculum frameworks. Incorporates diverse teaching strategies and resources to promote student engagement and comprehension of historical events, geographical concepts, government structures, and societal issues. Utilizes primary and secondary sources, multimedia materials, and technology to enhance learning experiences and encourages inquiry-based exploration. Creates a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that respects diverse perspectives and encourages active participation. Assesses student learning through various formative and summative assessments and provides timely feedback to support academic growth. Integrates literacy, critical thinking, and analytical skills development into instruction. Facilitate discussions, debates, and collaborative projects that promote civic engagement, empathy, and informed decision-making. Collaborate with colleagues to align Curriculum, instructional practices, and assessment strategies. Maintains accurate records of student progress, attendance, and behavior, and communicates effectively with students, parents, and guardians. Participates in professional development opportunities to enhance content knowledge, instructional skills, and cultural competency. Adheres to ethical standards and confidentiality guidelines regarding student information and professional matters. Promotes a positive school culture and fosters relationships with students, families, and the broader community. Participates in school-wide initiatives, committees, and events as required. Other duties as assigned.

  • Education Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Education Certification/licensure in appropriate teaching area Highly Qualified Teacher (HQT) status in teaching assignment Experience Preferred: Experience with personalized student advising and motivation skills.

  • Working Conditions This job is performed in a generally clean and healthy environment.
  • The employee may be required to deal with students with behavioral risks.
