Job description

Purpose of Position

Under direct supervision, the AHEC (Area Health Education Center) Intern supports the Northwest Alaska Area Health Education Center in delivering structured programs for students and certificate-based trainings for community members. This role combines clerical support with hands-on program facilitation to introduce participants to healthcare careers, strengthening the local healthcare pipeline through early exposure and foundational skill-building.

Essential Functions

  • Participate in activities that promote professional growth and self-development
  • Perform duties within the appropriate scope of work allowed based on training, etc.
  • Follow protocols as established by the direct supervisor
  • Participate in meeting department goals for performance while learning
  • Perform other duties as assigned
