The Wellness Advocate will mentor local people to become community wellness advocates by planning, leading, and teaching fitness and nutrition education, and wellness activities for youth and the broader community. This role supports health advocacy through community outreach and fostering environments for active, healthy lives for all ages.
A High School Diploma/GED is required, with progress toward a health-related degree preferred; candidates need 0-1 year of general experience, preferably in community outreach or youth development. Applicants must be able to actively participate in physical wellness activities and obtain CPR certification within one month of hire.
The wellness advocate position is designed to serve a community by mentoring local people to be community wellness advocates through planning, leading and teaching fitness and nutrition education, and wellness activities for the youth and broader community in their home community. The wellness coordinator will work to support the camp department in developing and sustaining year-Round health advocacy, participating in community outreach and fostering environments and opportunities for residents of all ages to lead active, healthy lives.
