Success Mentors will guide and serve as a resource to prospective and current Passaic County Community College students, focusing on supporting student success through assistance with goal setting, study skills, time management, and personal development. Duties include scheduling and attending 1-1 sessions, connecting mentees with campus resources, and developing/facilitating workshops.
We are seeking current Passaic County Community College students to be Success Mentors who will guide and serve as a resource to prospective and current Passaic County Community College (PCCC) students. The Success Mentor’s primary focus is to support the overall success of students by providing help with goal setting, study skills, time management, professional development, and personal development. Candidates must demonstrate willingness, patience, and a passion for supporting students in their access to and completion of their college journeys. The Success Mentor position requires a commitment of 10-15 hours per week throughout the academic year (August through May) and during the summer as needed.
This is a part-time, hourly position.
The completion of a background check will be required for the selected candidate.
Compensation is determined by a variety of criteria, including but not limited to, previous relevant experience, education level, and certifications. The minimum hourly pay for this position is $15.92.
Candidates must be current PCCC students with at least a 2.7 cumulative GPA who have successfully completed two full-time semesters at PCCC and are willing to commit for at least one year. Essential qualities include patience, a passion for student support, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work independently while maintaining consistent interaction with mentees.
