We are seeking a passionate and dedicated part-time high school math teacher to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mathematics, a knack for engaging students, and the ability to create a positive learning environment. This position offers the opportunity to inspire and educate young minds while working in a collaborative and supportive school community.

Responsibilities

Curriculum Development

  • Design and implement engaging and effective lesson plans aligned with the school's math curriculum and standards.
  • Adapt teaching strategies to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities within the classroom.

Instruction

Deliver dynamic and interactive math instruction to high school students.

Foster critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and mathematical literacy among students.

Provide clear explanations of mathematical concepts and facilitate hands-on learning experiences when applicable.

Assessment and Feedback

Assess student learning through various methods, including quizzes, tests, and class participation.

Provide timely and constructive feedback to students to support their academic growth and development.

Maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate with parents as needed.

Classroom Management

  • Establish a positive classroom environment conducive to learning.
  • Enforce school policies and procedures while promoting a culture of respect and cooperation among students.

Professional Development

  • Stay informed about current trends and best practices in math education.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Previous teaching experience at the high school level is desirable.
  • Strong content knowledge in various areas of high school mathematics, especially algebra.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of students.
  • Enthusiasm for teaching and a genuine desire to make a positive impact on students' lives.

Schedule

  • This is a part-time position with potential for increasing hours in future school years.
  • Occasional participation in professional development and administrative meetings will be required.
