Job description

CT / MRI Areas

The Pre-Graduate Radiologic Technologist under general direction of the CT and MRI Technologists will lend aide and support to both departments as needed.

Diagnostic Areas

The Pre-Graduate Radiologic Technologist, under general direction of the supervisor/ shift lead performs most radiographic procedures at a technical level with indirect supervision. Technical procedures performed require independent judgment, ingenuity and initiative to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for radiologic diagnosis. Operation of both computer programmed and manual equipment for technique selection and imaging will be utilized during procedures. The Pre-Graduate Radiologic Technologist working in all areas must have an understanding of and be able to effectively utilize all required applications of RIS and PACS. Adherence to computer documentation and appropriate exam charging for compliance of departmental standards is necessary. Other duties include patient transport on nursing units, ER, between departments, and clerical support functions. Additional duties as required.

Requirements

Must be a high school graduate Actively enrolled in a ARRT approved program with an overall passing status Satisfactorily completed formal competencies of an accredited School of Radiologic Technology and approved by the Program Education Specialist of CCBC/Heritage Valley Heath System School of Radiologic Technology Successful completion of thirty (30) competencies ( including all chest exams, abdomen series, finger, hand, wrist, forearm, elbow, humerus, shoulder, foot, ankle, lower leg, knee, femur, pelvis, hip, cervical spine, lumbar spine, thoracic spine) as described by the ARRT CPR certification Successful completion of Acts 73 and/or 169 clearances within 90 days of commencing employment, if applicable. Employment will terminate upon graduation
