About the role

The role involves planning and implementing academic and behavioral plans specifically for special education students while also serving as a student advisor. Through our dedicated, experienced and skilled clinicians, we provide patients and their families with the highest quality of personalized care. Programs are offered for children, adolescents and adults struggling with mental illness as well as offering services specializing in Anxiety, Eating Disorders, and Geriatric Services.

Job Summary Plans and implements academic and behavioral plans for special education students. Serves as student advisor. Works with interdisciplinary team to develop curriculum, manage the milieu and communicate in the psycho-educational environment. Reports to the principal/assistant principal.

Bachelor's Degree

Current CT teaching certification (065) in Special Ed and/or specific curriculum area.

Experience in similar setting preferred.

DMV requirements for transporting students to and from activities and/or to and from school may be required.

Communication and interpersonal skills.

Understanding child development.

Requirements

Candidates must possess a Bachelor's Degree and hold the current Connecticut teaching certification (065) in Special Education or a specific curriculum area. Experience in a similar setting is preferred, and DMV requirements for student transportation may apply.
