Job description

Community Options, Inc. is a national non-profit agency providing services to individuals with disabilities in 12 states. We are now hiring a Full-Time Job Coach in Mercer County, New Jersey. The Job Coach uses best practices and technology within a community-based employment setting. The Job Coach will supervise and train individuals with developmental disabilities on how to acquire the skills needed to perform specific tasks, work routines, and personal life activities that are critical to successful employment.

Hourly Rate

$17.00

Responsibilities

Teach individuals independent job skills, requirements utilizing job task analysis, job specific supports, including assistive technology and personal assistance Work side-by-side with individuals at the job site, analyzing the job requirements and breaking it into manageable components that can be taught to the individual Build a support network between the individual and community members Communicate individual’s progress to the employer and support people, including family, residential staff, and other professionals Accurately complete all documentation Additional tasks and responsibilities may be assigned Employee must cooperate with the license and department staff in any inspection, inquiry, or investigation Minimum Requirements High school diploma or equivalent Two years’ full-time work experience in employment or related field Valid driver's license with satisfactory driving record Ability to analyze a job and break it into manageable components Ability to exercise good judgment and remain calm in a crisis situation Ability to present ideas and factual data in a clear concise manner Ability to establish a comfortable and supportive relationship with individuals Ability to read and write English Employment is contingent upon successful completion of checks of criminal background, central registry, child abuse registry, and drug testing Why Community Options?
