Overview

The Day Camp Counselor supports the planning and delivery of fun, faith‑based youth programs while prioritizing the safety and well‑being of every child. The role follows all center policies and works under the direction of the Ministry Assistant and/or Corps Officer.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Deliver service to clients
  • Follow all Child Safety policies and procedures
  • Engage with children sensitively with positive discipline
  • Maintain supervision
  • Support check-in and sign-out processes
  • Stay informed on daily plans to guide children effectively
  • Share feedback and ideas for improving programs
  • Collaborate with assistants to supervise and engage campers
  • Keep work and play areas clean and orderly
  • Ensure facility security and report concerns
  • Attend staff meetings
  • Maintain confidentiality at all times
  • Other related duties as required

Education and experience

  • 18 years of age (required)
  • Driver’s license (required)
  • First Aid and CPR certification (within 90 days of hire – required)
  • Experience working with children (1 year preferred)
