Day camp counselor

The primary role involves providing direct supervision to a group of children in a seasonal day camp, ensuring a quality experience aligned with ymca core values like honesty, respect, responsibility, and caring. Counselors must plan and implement culturally relevant and developmentally appropriate program activities while strictly adhering to safety and cleanliness standards.

Candidates must be at least 18 years old and typically require a high school diploma or equivalent, though one or more years of college is preferred. Previous experience working with children, preferably in a day camp setting, is desired, along with specific certifications like cpr, first aid, aed, and mandatory training before the camp starts.
