Interpreter I, Sign Language

The primary responsibility involves providing direct interpretation and transliteration services for academic classes, lectures, and special events, while also preparing for assignments by reviewing materials and consulting with faculty and students. Duties also include continuous professional development, meeting with supervisors to review evaluations, and assessing consumer communication modes.

Candidates must possess a high school diploma or ged, with an associate degree preferred, and require two years of experience, preferably in a college or university setting. A valid texas driver license and texas board for evaluation of interpreter (Bei) basic certification are required, though applicants without current certification may be considered if they agree to obtain it within 12 months.
