Assists in the organization, development, and leadership of a competitive Field Hockey Program in support of the mission and core values of Union College. Duties and Responsibilities
Coaching and Player Development: Assists in planning and conducting practice sessions. Provides individual and group instruction focused on skill development and team strategy during games, practice, and individual sessions. In partnership with the Head Coach evaluates player performance and provides feedback.
Administration
Assists in organizing and managing team logistics, including travel arrangements and equipment. Provides support in the developing and implementing game strategies. Fosters a positive and inclusive team environment.
Qualifications
Prior experience in coaching and playing field hockey, preferably at the collegiate level. Possess solid organizational, interpersonal and leadership skills. Understanding of National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) rules and regulations. Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends is required. Physical requirements: Ability to lift moderately heavy items (up to 30 lbs.) and stand, bend and stoop for extended periods of time. A valid New York State driver’s license is required. Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills. Compensation
The expected rate for this position is $16.00 per hour. Except for roles with a set rate of pay, the wage/salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The stated hiring rate/range represents the College’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the rate/range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
