The Student Success Counselor provides counseling and advising on complex academic progress and wellness issues, managing a caseload focused on adult students by coordinating holistic supports, mentoring, and community resource access. SUNY Ulster County Community College, a two-year branch of the State University of New York located ninety miles north of New York City in the Catskill Mountains, is currently accepting applications for a Student Success Counselor.
The Student Success Counselor reports to the Director of New Start and is responsible for providing counseling and advising on complex issues regarding student academic progress and wellness.
The Student Success Counselor will manage a caseload of students with a focus on adults.
Counseling services will include management of holistic supports, mentoring, and guidance in accessing community-based resources.
The Student Success Counselor will serve as a primary point of contact for students from admission to completion, will support students in the creation of an academic and career plan and is responsible for monitoring student progress on their plan and providing and coordinating resources, referrals, and support to facilitate student retention and completion.
This position may require occasional evening and/or weekend hours, as needed, to support adult schedules and attend community events.
A starting salary of $52,500 with an excellent benefits package. This position is contingent upon adequate funding.
