Swim Instructor, Edward L Gaylord "Downtown" YMCA

The swim instructor is responsible for providing leadership to all instructional areas of the aquatic program while ensuring the safety of all participants through constant alertness and readiness to perform rescues. Duties include preparing and teaching classes according to ymca objectives, maintaining required documentation, and fostering a fun, positive atmosphere.

Candidates must be at least 16 years old with demonstrable swimming and safety skills, and must maintain current cpr/Aed/First aid certifications. Certification as a ymca swim instructor is required within six months, and the role demands adherence to ymca character development values.
