Core responsibilities
The fitness specialist is responsible for evaluating participant abilities and needs to develop suitable training programs, demonstrating proper exercise techniques to minimize injuries, and ensuring client safety during training sessions. This role also includes inspecting, maintaining, and cleaning fitness equipment and administering emergency first aid when necessary.
Requirements summary
A bachelor's degree in a related field is required, though a minimum of 5 years of experience or current enrollment in a program may be considered in lieu of the degree. Candidates must possess a group exercise certification or personal trainer certification from an accredited program, along with automated external defibrillator certification, and cpr certification within 90 days.
