Group Exercise Instructor I

The instructor is responsible for conducting ymca exercise classes on land and/Or water, including appropriate music selection, class setup/Takedown, and educating participants about the coach approach® and wellness issues. They must also ensure classes run smoothly while maintaining required certifications and adhering to ymca policies and safety guidelines.

Candidates must have a high school diploma or ged and be at least 18 years old, with less than one year of teaching experience or one or more years of participation experience being acceptable. Required certifications, including ymca/Ace group exercise instructor certification or equivalency, must be obtained within 60 days of hire, alongside maintaining current cpr/Aed certification.
