The Child Development Center is seeking part-time Center Assistants to provide classroom coverage and support early learning throughout all center classrooms. Center Assistants are scheduled for shifts for 5 - 8 hours in classrooms ranging from ages 16 months to 5 years old. A Center Assistant will help classroom teachers with a variety of responsibilities.

Duties: & Responsibilities:

● Support classroom teachers in delivering age-appropriate activities, promoting self-regulation and behavior development, and responding to teacher requests and needs in a timely manner.

● Support students in developing self-help skills including

diapering, toilet-training, hand-washing, first-aid, cleanliness and hygiene.

● Model professionalism, engages in self-reflection, self-led continuous improvement, seeks out feedback from administrators and classroom teachers, and performs duties constructively.

● Float among classrooms to provide bathroom breaks or planning coverage.

● Maintain flexibility and cooperativeness.

● Be mindful of classroom lesson instruction, behavior management, classroom environment and children's needs.

● Maintain objective-based weekly lesson plans and prepare materials necessary for classroom teachers to carry out activities and lessons.

● Attend monthly staff meetings and respond to administrative needs, including licensing needs and NAEYC standard requirements.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

● CPR/First Aid Certification.

● Weekly availability of at least 20 hours, not to exceed 29 hours.

● Fingerprint, Background Check Approval.

● High School Diploma, GED Equivalent.

● Exceptional written and verbal communication skills among colleagues and parents.

Preferred Qualifications

● Early Childhood classroom experience.

● Bachelor's or Associate's degree in related field.

Salary Range

$18.00
