Candidates must possess a master’s or higher degree in the field and meet specific state licensing requirements, such as an adhs license and ade prek–12 slp certification for arizona, and must pass a criminal history background check. Preferred qualifications include prior experience as a speech language pathologist and holding an asha certificate of clinical competence.
