Job description

  • The Granite YMCA is seeking Assistant Coaches for our recreational swim team at our YMCA Allard Center of Goffstown location.

  • Assistant Coaches act as role models for swimmers seeking to develop the whole athlete.
  • Reliable, positive and enthusiastic coaches implement practices for varying age and skill levels from beginner elementary school children to competitive high school athletes.
  • Our team serves approximately 90 youth and offers both a winter and summer swim team season, with additional off-season developmental opportunities in the fall and spring.
  • Prior experience coaching, being a competitive swimmer, and USA Coaches Certification are preferred, though flexible to train other candidates with a background in youth sports and development.

Responsibilities

Supports and facilitates regular swim practices to a variety of age and ability groups Coaches and instructs all children on swim team, differentiating approaches based on varying abilities and experience Participates in practice and meet set up and break down and maintains an organized area Supports swim meets and various aspects of these trips Help determine swimmers’ events for meet entries Maintain open communication with parents to ensure education and communication on all aspects of long-term development Position Specifics: FLEXIBLE scheduling available, up to 15 hours per week between practices and weekend swim meets Hours available during the following practice times: Monday through Friday 4:00p – 7:30p Availability needed to support occasional weekend offsite and onsite swim meets Part-Time Benefits: Flexible hours and team environment Leadership development and paid training Access to Y Career pathways Staff receive a free Y membership YMCA program discounts Retirement plans available (for 18 +) Tuition discounts to select NH and online schools Discounts on Tickets, earned paid time off, and more
