Core responsibilities
The teacher assistant supports instruction delivery and ensures individualized education program (Iep) mandates are met by assisting with lesson plans, data collection, and classroom activities. Responsibilities also include implementing established behavior plans, facilitating home-School communication, and being capable of assuming teacher responsibilities when necessary.
Requirements summary
Candidates must possess a high school diploma or equivalent, along with one year of experience working in an educational setting and one year of experience working with children. Applicants are required to obtain a new york state teaching assistant certificate or teaching certificate within six months of hire if they do not already possess one.
