Hampden-Sydney College - Hampden Sydney, VA 23943Hampden-Sydney College, an NCAA Division III institution and member of the Old Dominion Athletic Conference is accepting applications for two Assistant Athletic Trainer positions. Assistant Athletic Trainers are responsible for working with the Team Physician and Head Athletic Trainer within the guidelines set forth by the NATA, NCAA, and the Commonwealth of Virginia to ensure the health and welfare of Hampden-Sydney College intercollegiate student-athletes.

Responsibilities

Evaluation/treatment of injury/illness to intercollegiate student-athletes. Provide emergency medical coverage during athletic events/practices/travel for teams. Refer ill/injured athletes to team physicians/consultants regarding injuries/illnesses/care. Administration of Department athletic accident insurance policy Communicate effectively with coaches/student-athletes regarding injuries/playing status. Counseling/advising intercollegiate student-athletes/coaches regarding health/conditioning/illness/injury. Act as a clinical preceptor for Athletic Training Students, should CAATE accredited program place students at our site. Design/modify appropriate individual rehab of post-surgical/post-injury conditions. Maintain medical/administrative records. Apply appropriate protective padding/braces/strapping/other orthotic devices. QualificationsThe Board of Certification for Athletic Trainers certification required. NATA certification and Virginia State License required. CPR/AED certification required. National Provider Identification (NPI) number required. Football experience is preferred.
