Responsibilities

As a Lead Pre-K Teacher, you will be given the tools, resources, and training to: Develop and implement creative and developmentally appropriate lesson plans and activities that foster learning, curiosity, and exploration among preschool-aged children. Create a warm, welcoming, and inclusive classroom atmosphere where preschoolers feel safe, valued, and encouraged to express themselves and learn through play. Integrate language-rich activities, storytelling, and early literacy experiences into daily routines to help preschoolers develop communication skills, vocabulary, and a love of reading. Ensure the cleanliness, organization, and safety of the classroom environment, including materials, equipment, and play areas, to support optimal learning and exploration. Establish open and ongoing communication with parents, sharing insights, updates, and progress on their child's development.

Qualifications

Must meet the requirements to be a lead teacher as approved by MSDE's Office of Child Care (the governing State agency). This position requires comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the behavioral and developmental stages of children and knowledge of childcare licensing requirements The ability to manage a classroom, including strong organizational, communication (verbal and written), and problem-solving skills. patience, flexibility. Essential Functions: Manages classroom ensuring compliance with all Child Care regulations, and company standards, policies, and procedures. Provides a welcoming and friendly classroom environment for all children, parents, and visitors. Maintains attractive and current classroom/hallway displays and an educational and informative Parent Board that is updated regularly. Creates and implements thorough, timely lesson plans that are age appropriate and stimulating in accordance with Celebree’s curriculum. Manages effective classroom transitions. Assists and supervises children during all activities; counsels’ children as needed using positive and appropriate discipline techniques. Ensures that appearance, cleanliness, and safe environment of the classroom is appropriately maintained. Accurately completes all paperwork, electronic reports, supervision records and attendance. Attends all team meetings, trainings and School events as requested. Provides support and direction to Aides to ensure the classroom functions in an orderly manner. Provides development, coaching and training to support Aide development. Always presents a positive and professional image, adhering to uniform requirements. Communicates effectively with parents, e.g., greeting by name, addressing concerns in a timely manner, giving positive feedback, and providing regular updates on their child’s development and classroom happenings. Maintains open and effective communication with Management. Identifies opportunities and/or problems in the classroom/School and works with coworkers and Directors to resolve. Maintains all mandatory certification requirements. Performs face to name counts every 30 minutes and upon transitions. Maintains confidentiality regarding families, co-workers, and self. Maintains regular and satisfactory attendance at all times, limits absences. Education/Experience: Must meet all Teacher requirements per State regulations. Must have a Bachelor's Degree. License/Certification: Child Development Associate Certification (Preferred) 45+45 hours training required to be lead qualified teacher (Required)
