Core responsibilities

This role involves providing direct instruction to students in classrooms, monitoring their progress, and supporting them in learning academics, functional living skills, and appropriate behaviors and social skills. Teacher assistants/Behavior specialists receive training in applied behavior analysis (Aba) principles and collaborate with a supportive team including teachers, bcbas, and pathologists.

Requirements summary

Candidates must have completed at least two years of college (60 credits) or hold a teacher assistant/Para-Pro certification, and must be proficient in english for reading, writing, and speaking. Additional requirements include the ability to implement behavioral interventions, lift up to 50 pounds, maintain a valid driver's license for three years, and obtain required certifications like cpr/First aid and pro-Act.
