Shape Tomorrow's Leaders: Health/PE Instructor

Health/PE Instructor Shape Tomorrow's Leaders Fork Union Military Academy is a private, Christian, all-boys boarding military school located in the scenic heart of Central Virginia, serving grades 7–12 and postgraduate students. We are seeking a Health/PE Instructor who can deliver strong instruction in physical education and health, maintain structured learning environments, and contribute to a mission-driven school community.

Responsibilities

Teach assigned Health and Physical Education courses Develop and implement lesson plans, curriculum, and assessments aligned with Health/PE standards Lead physical activities that promote fitness, teamwork, and personal accountability Provide timely, constructive feedback and assess student progress in both health knowledge and physical performance Instruct students on health topics such as nutrition, wellness, and healthy decision-making Collaborate with faculty and staff to support student well-being

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Health, Physical Education, or a related field (required) Prior teaching experience, preferably in secondary education (strongly preferred) Virginia teaching license or eligibility (strongly preferred) Strong communication and classroom/activity management skills Work Environment This position operates within a structured, student-centered boarding school environment and includes both classroom-based health instruction and active physical education settings. Regular interaction with cadets, faculty, and residential staff is expected. Occasional evening or weekend responsibilities may be required.
