Social Studies Teacher Shape Tomorrow's Leaders Fork Union Military Academy is a private, Christian, all-boys boarding military school located in the scenic heart of Central Virginia, serving grades 7–12 and postgraduate students. We are seeking a Social Studies Teacher who can deliver strong instruction in history and related disciplines, maintain clear classroom standards, and contribute to a structured, mission-driven school community.

Responsibilities

Teach assigned Social Studies courses (e.g., history, government, civics) aligned with the Academy's college preparatory curriculum Develop and implement lesson plans and assessments Provide timely, constructive feedback to students Support student growth, accountability, and classroom culture Maintain a structured, well-managed classroom environment Collaborate with faculty and staff to support student success

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in History, Social Studies, Education, or a related field (required) Prior teaching experience (strongly preferred) Virginia teaching license or eligibility (strongly preferred) Work Environment This position operates within a structured, student-centered boarding school environment and involves regular interaction with cadets, faculty, and residential staff. Occasional evening or weekend responsibilities may be required.
