- Substitute Learning Guides play a critical role in ensuring continuity of learning and maintaining a positive, structured classroom environment in the absence of the primary Learning Guide.
- This role is ideal for individuals who are adaptable, proactive, and aligned with Meliora’s mission and culture.
- Substitutes may be called on for short-term or extended assignments across content areas.
- Key Responsibilities Implement lesson plans and learning activities provided by the primary Learning Guide Maintain a safe, structured, and inclusive classroom environment aligned with Meliora’s culture and expectations Support learners in staying on task and engaged in their work Uphold school-wide systems, including routines, transitions, and behavior expectations Build positive relationships with learners and staff Communicate effectively with school leadership and staff regarding classroom updates or concerns Ensure accurate attendance and follow all school procedures
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree preferred (or equivalent experience working with youth) Prior experience working with middle or high school learners strongly preferred Strong classroom management and communication skills Ability to be flexible, responsive, and solution-oriented in dynamic environments Alignment with The Meliora School’s mission, values, and learner-centered approach
Preferred Qualifications
